Selling Tabbed CAA Most Outstanding Swimmer

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. - Mira Selling was named the CAA Most Outstanding Swimmer of the 2022 CAA Swimming and Diving Championships after winning three gold medals throughout the week. The Delaware women's swimming and diving team finished the week with eight medals and a fifth-place team finish with a score of 454.
"Extremely proud of both our teams," said head coach Pablo Marmolejo. "They had an incredible week, they fought extremely hard and achieved great things for Delaware. They weathered the storm early on and handled themselves with a lot of poise in the water and on the boards. The strides they have taken in the last few years has been impressive to witness and we coaches are incredibly humbled for being part of it."
Selling was named the CAA Championship Most Outstanding Swimmer of the Meet after taking gold in the 200 IM, 200 Free and 200 Fly. She claimed her third gold medal of the 2022 CAA Championship, winning the 200 Fly in a time of 2:00.00. Selling becomes the second-ever Blue Hen to win the event and the first since 2005. The Dresden, Germany native now has five career gold medals.
Andromachi Tasakou earned her second individual medal of the meet after taking third place in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:17.64. Tasakou was the 100 Breast champion, setting a program record with a time of 1:01.67 and became the first Blue Hen to win the event.
On the 1-Meter board, Julia Servas (252.90), Rowan O'Sullivan (240.85) and Ella Drazek (235.55) all qualified for the A finals, while Jordan Campbell (220.05) qualified for the B finals. Servas finished the meet with a fifth-place finish and a score of 253.30 in the finals. Drazek (219.30) and O'Sullivan (214.30) finished seventh and eighth respectively, while Campbell finished 15th (217.60).
The Blue Hens capped off the week clinching a third-place finish in the 400 Free Relay. Natalie Dobrzykowski, Aislinn Mitchell, Anthi Lyra and Selling earned bronze with a time of 3:22.82.
