Blue Hens Place 17 on NFHCA Academic Squad

BROCKPORT, N.Y. - The Delaware field hockey team placed 17 student-athletes on the 2021 NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.

Over 1,370 student-athletes from 80 Division I institutions have been named to the 2021 NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.

The NFHCA National Academic Squad program, sponsored by OPA Winning Teams, honors collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year and were nominated by their NFHCA member coach.

Delaware's Lizzie Gaebel, Grace Hoepfner, Ashley Iannuzzi, Sarah Iannuzzi, Grace Miller and Femke Strien are six of 230 student-athletes appearing on the list for the fourth time.

NFHCA All-American, Julia Duffhuis, and NFHCA All-Region honorees Ashlyn Carr and Kiki Oudshoorn also highlighted the academic squad.

Three Division I academic awards remain to be announced — the NFHCA Scholars of Distinction will be announced on February 15, the NFHCA National Academic Team awards on February 21, and the National Scholar-Athlete on February 23.
