RICHMOND, Va. - Mira Selling earned her third CAA Swimmer of the Week honor this season, announced by the conference office Tuesday.Â
The Dresden, Germany, native turned in a pair of personal bests during the Last Chance Meet. Selling posted a time of 54.56 in the 100 fly, which was just .05 shy of the program record and her fastest ever. The junior also set the 2nd-fastest time in program history in the 100 free with a time of 49.58, which is the best in the CAA this season. Selling's time of 23.28 in the 50 free was .01 away from her personal record.
Selling earned her second weekly honor Nov. 16 after posting four first-place finishes to help Delaware roll past Rider (247-35) and La Salle (214-85). The junior had winning performances in the 100 free (51.45), 200 free (1:52.32) and 200 IM (2:05.31), and was also part of the first-place 400 free relay team (3:32.72).
After strong performance at the CAA Pod Meet earlier in November, Selling earned Co-Swimmer of the Week honors, her first of the season. She finished first in the 200 IM with a pool-record time of 2:03.92 that was the fastest in the league. She set another pool record with a first-place effort in the 200 free with a time of 1:49.88, which was the CAA's fastest by nearly three seconds. Selling capped her weekend by winning the 200 fly by more than two seconds with a pool-record and CAA-best time of 2:02.39.
The Blue Hens now look toward the 2022 CAA Swimming and Diving Championships in Christiansburg, Va., from Feb. 16-19.Â
