Women’s Tennis Preview: Duquesne & West Virginia

» After seeing its five-match winning streak come to an end last weekend, the No. 74 Delaware women's tennis team will look to get back in the win column when the squad travels for matches at Duquesne and West Virginia this weekend. Saturday's match against the Dukes in Pittsburgh will start at 4 p.m. before the Blue Hens have a quick turnaround against the Mountaineers, with a 9 a.m. start for their dual match on Sunday in Morgantown.

» The Blue & Gold had won five-consecutive matches to start the spring campaign and earn its first national ranking since the 2013 season as the Blue Hens slotted in at No. 63 last week. UD saw its winning streak snapped in a hard-fought match at No. 52 VCU last Saturday and the Blue Hens slipped down to No. 74 in the rankings.

» Duquesne enters Saturday's match with a 4-3 record having won three-consecutive matches. The Dukes started their run with a 5-2 victory over Saint Francis (Pa.) before defeating Carnegie Melon (6-1) and Northern Kentucky (4-3) last weekend.

» West Virginia currently sits at 6-4 overall on the season and will host Penn on Saturday afternoon before taking on UD. The Mountaineers and Blue Hens have played a couple of common opponents so far this spring as both squads defeated George Washington and fell to VCU.
