Men’s Tennis Preview: UNCW (CAA Semifinals)

» The third-seeded University of Delaware men's tennis team will make its first appearance in the CAA Semifinals when the Blue Hens take on No. 2 UNCW on Saturday afternoon at the 2022 CAA Men's Tennis Championship. First serve is set for 2 p.m. at Elon's Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.

» The Blue & Gold enter Saturday's contest on a 10-match winning streak, advancing past the quarterfinals for the first time in program history with a 4-1 win over No. 6 Drexel on Friday. The Blue Hens took the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. In singles, Drexel evened the match, but Luis Molina (No. 3), James Wilkinson (No. 1) and Guilherme Valdoleiros (No. 5) all won their matches to secure the victory.

» Delaware and UNCW have not met since the 2019 season when the Seahawks eliminated UD in the CAA Quarterfinals. The two programs have met four times in the CAA Championship, all since 2015 with UNCW eliminating the Blue Hens each time.

» UNCW is 13-8 on the season and has won its past four matches, including a 4-0 win over Hofstra on Friday in the quarterfinals. The Seahawks and Blue Hens have played three common opponents this season as both squads beat Hofstra, Charleston and South Carolina State.
