Women’s Tennis Preview: Drexel (CAA Quarterfinals)

» The third-seeded University of Delaware women's tennis team opens play at the 2022 CAA Women's Tennis Championship on Friday afternoon when the Blue Hens take on No. 6 Drexel in a quarterfinal match. First serve is set for 1 p.m. at Elon's Jimmy Powell Tennis Center. The match was moved up an hour in anticipation of inclement weather.

» Delaware enters the CAA Championship at 18-5 overall, setting a program record for wins in a season. The Blue Hens are 3-2 against CAA opponents. The Blue Hens have won four-straight matches going into the postseason, including victories over Drexel (6-1) and Towson (7-0).

» The Blue Hens and Dragons met just two weeks ago in Newark as Delaware came away with a 6-1 victory in UD's home finale. UD jumped out to a quick start with a sweep of the doubles point before winning five of the six singles matches.

» Drexel enters the CAA Championship with a 6-12 overall record and a 2-2 mark against conference opponents. The Dragons bounced back from their loss to the Blue Hens on April 15, winning their final two matches of the season with 6-1 decisions over Hofstra and Saint Joseph's.
