Delaware Comes Back in Singles to Defeat Saint Joseph’s 4-3

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Delaware men's tennis team won four of the first five singles matches to come from behind and defeat Saint Joseph's 4-3 on Wednesday afternoon. With the win, the Blue Hens have now won five-consecutive matches and improve to 10-8 on the season.
The Hawks swept all three doubles matches by 6-3 scores to take the point heading into singles play. Tobias Sonne got UD on the board at No. 5 singles with a 6-4, 6-0 win to even the match. Guilherme Valdoleiros then put the Blue & Gold on top with a 6-4, 6-2 win at the No. 5 position.
After Saint Joseph's picked up a victory at No. 1 to even things back up, Alexandre Gluck brought Delaware within a point as he secured a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 4. Pascal Wagemaker completed the comeback with a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 4.
The Blue Hens will return the Delaware Tennis Courts to open a four-match homestand to close out the regular season. The Blue & Gold will host CAA foe James Madison on Saturday for a 12 p.m. match.
