Tribe Uses Longball To Defeat Delaware, 5-2

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – William & Mary hit three late home runs to break open a pitchers' duel as the Tribe recorded a 5-2 victory over Delaware Saturday afternoon at Plumeri Park.
William & Mary took the lead in the bottom of the fourth as Cole Ragone worked a leadoff walk and scored two outs later on an infield single by Joe Delossantos.
The Tribe maintained its 1-0 led until the bottom of the seventh, when Delossantos belted a two-run homer and Max Winters added a solo shot.
JJ Freeman doubled with one down in the top of the eighth before Joey Loynd crushed his eighth homer of the year to leftcenter as the Blue Hens cut the lead in half. However Ben Williamson led off the bottom of the frame with a longball of his own, before Delaware went down in order in the ninth.
Freeman finished with two hits on the day for the Blue Hens, while Loynd and Bryce Greenly each recorded one. Joey Silan, who allowed just two hits in the opening six innings before running into trouble in the seventh, took the loss on the mound.
