Kilkeary Earns Third CAA Weekly Honor of the Year

RICHMOND, Va. – Delaware men's lacrosse senior goalkeeper Matt Kilkeary has been named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Player of the Week for the third time in 2022, announced Monday by the league office.

Kilkeary, a native of Lake Sherwood, Calif., recorded a career-high 19 saves to help guide Delaware to a 14-12 win over Fairfield as the Blue Hens earned a share of the CAA regular-season title and secured a berth in the conference tournament. Kilkeary played all 60 minutes in goal, facing 54 shots and posting a .613 save percentage. The senior goalkeeper made 10 stops in the first half and nine in the second half, including seven saves in the fourth, to shut out the Stags in the final period.

The accolade is the third player of the week honor of Kilkeary's career. It is also a Delaware-best eight honors in a single season.
