Men's Lacrosse Earns Seven Atlantic 10 Postseason Awards

WASHINGTON – The University of Delaware men's lacrosse team took home seven Atlantic 10 postseason awards in its first year in the conference, the league announced Wednesday. Nick Cowen, Tyler Owings, and Brendan Powers earned A-10 All-Conference Second Team honors. Scott Conte, Keegan Lathrop, and Colton Silverstein were placed on the A-10 All-Rookie Team. Cowen rounded out the winners, landing on the A-10 All-Academic Team as well.
Cowen, a graduate international business major with a 3.75 GPA, led the team in caused turnovers with 26 while starting all 13 games. The Franklin Square, N.Y. native's 2.09 caused turnovers per game were good enough for four place in the A-10 and 13th nationally.
Owings had a team-best eight assists en route to his first-career all-conference selection. The Hereford, Md. native finished fourth on the team with 17 points, scoring nine goals to go with his eight helpers while appearing in all 13 games.
Powers led the team in goals (20) and points (26), while finishing third on the team in assists (6). The Skaneateles, N.Y. native started all 13 games for the Hens, tallying four hat tricks on the campaign. The three-time all-conference honoree concluded his collegiate career with 119 points, tied for the 25th-most points in program history.
Conte was one of the premier faceoff options in the A-10 this season, tallying 135 faceoff wins and 74 ground balls, both third most in the conference. The Wayne, N.J. native was recognized twice as A-10 Defensive Player of the Week, twice as a member of the USILA DI Team of the Week, and once as the A-10 Rookie of the Week. The rookie had a .534 faceoff percentage while appearing in all 13 games as UD's No. 1 faceoff option. Conte shined against St. Bonaventure, winning 26 faceoffs, the most in a single game in the country this season and tied for the third most in program history. The 26 faceoff wins are the most in the nation in a single game by a freshman since 2020. The rookie also had a career-best 17 ground balls, which is tied for seventh most in a game in program history, and he added an assist for his first-career point.
Lathrop broke out in his first-collegiate season of action, finishing third on the team in goals (15) and points (18). The Cape Elizabeth, Maine native appeared in 11 games with 10 starts, winning A-10 Rookie of the Week after his first-career hat trick and a career-best five points against Hobart.
Silverstein made the most of his opportunity in cage during his first season of action, appearing in 10 games, including starting the final eight games of the season. The Houston, Texas native averaged 11.01 goals against and held a .526 save percentage, both third best in the A-10. He won A-10 Defensive Player of the Week twice, totaling 100 saves and a 4-4 record. He had 18 saves in a game two times, which ties for the third-most saves in a game in the league this season.
