Women’s Soccer Preview: UNCW and CofC

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women's soccer team opens up Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) this Thursday at UNCW, followed by a match at College of Charleston.

What You Need to Know:

The Blue Hens are 1-5-3 entering conference play.
Delaware leads the all-time series against UNCW, 11-9-2. UNCW won the last meeting on Oct. 24, 2021 in Wilmington, 3-1.
College of Charleston leads the all-time series against UD, 6-1-1. CofC has won the last six meetings.
After leading UD in goals scored in 2021, Sara D'Appolonia has four goals and one assist on her resume in 2022. Izzy Lane leads the team with four assists, while Mia Reed has 33 saves in goal.

The Opponent

UNCW (4-3-1) enters CAA play with four wins under its belt. Madison Henry leads UNCW with 13 points (5 goals, 3 assists). Blair Barefoot holds a 4-2-1 record with 11 saves.
College of Charleston (6-3) fell to Furman in its final non-conference match. Grace Powell leads the team with six goals for 12 points. Savannah Barron has 22 saves and a 3-2 record in the net. Katie Carrino has 20 saves and a 3-1 record for UNCW.
