Blue Hens Earn Three-Set Win Over Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. – The University of Delaware volleyball team captured a three-set (25-18, 25-15, 25-9) victory over Hampton on Saturday afternoon to improve to 7-4 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
"It was definitely a full team effort today," said head coach Kim Lambert. "Savannah Seemans found her offensive rhythm, which was great to see. We talked about managing errors while increasing our defensive effort and the girls executed well."
Lani Mason and Seemans led the Blue Hen charge with 14 kills apiece. Mason hit .407 from the floor with eight digs and two block assists. Seemans led all players with a .522 hitting percentage to go along with nine digs and two block assists. Ezri Basaraniar tallied 26 assists, while Eileen Gex led all players with 12 digs.
Delaware served up seven aces in the match, while the Pirates had just one. The Blue Hens finished with an attack percentage of .365, including hitting a .565 in the third and final set to seal the victory.
The Blue Hens led the way in kills (43-27), digs (41-23), and blocks (15-8).
Hampton drops to 3-3 overall and 0-3 in conference play. Gabby Calloway led Hampton with eight kills and seven digs. Rickelle Wescott recorded three blocks and Leanna Caldwell led the Pirates with eight digs. Julietta Campana registered 20 assists for Hampton.

Delaware will play Hampton tomorrow, Sunday, Sept. 25 at 2 p.m.
