Men's Soccer Preview: Saint Joseph's

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's soccer team will return home for a non-conference matchup against Saint Joseph's on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.

What You Need to Know:

Delaware opened its season with a 2-0 win over Mount St. Mary's on Thursday, August 25, giving head coach Tommy McMenemy his first career victory.
Seidu Shamsudeen and Sam Donnellan both have scored goals for the Blue Hens, while Carlos Fernandez and Florian Phlepsen each have recorded an assist.
Adam Vik has recorded nine saves through the first three games of the season, including a career high four against Charleston in the Blue Hens' last match.
Delaware is 12-10-2 all-time against Saint Joseph's, including 6-6-1 at home. The Blue Hens won the previous meeting between the two programs, 1-0, on March 10, 2021. Josh Hesson scored the lone goal while Renan Thomazo posted a shutout.

The Opponent:

Saint Joseph's is 0-1-1 so far on the season, losing on the road to Navy on August 25 before playing Boston University to a 1-1 draw on Sept. 2.
Phillip Wujewitsch has scored the only goal for the Hawks so far this season, while Omry Perel has an assist. Luis Ludosan has started both games as the goalkeeper this season and has recorded two saves.
Head coach Don D'Ambra is in his 13th season as head coach and helped lead the program to an Atlantic 10 Tournament appearance last season. As a player with the Hawks, he was Atlantic 10 Player of the Year in 1993 and a Regional First-Team All-American selection.
