Women’s Soccer Preview: Saint Francis and Sacred Heart

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women's soccer team (1-2-3) will play on the road at Saint Francis on Thursday at 2 p.m., before returning home to Newark to host Sacred Heart at 1 p.m.

What You Need to Know:
- The Blue Hens are 1-2-3 after a pair of ties against Lehigh and Seton Hall last week.
- Delaware leads the all-time series versus Saint Francis, 6-0. The last time the two teams met was in 2014, when the Blue Hens won the outing, 1-0 on the road.
- Delaware is 1-0 all-time versus Sacred Heart. In the two teams lone meeting in 2008, the Blue Hens won 5-1 at a neutral site.
- After leading UD in goals scored in 2021, Sara D'Appolonia has three goals and one assist on her resume in 2022. Izzy Lane leads the team with four assists, while Mia Reed has 30 saves in goal.
- Saint Francis enters Thursday's match with an 0-6 record. Lauren Pyle leads SFU with two goals scored.
- Sacred Heart is 1-3-1. Morgan Bovardi leads the way with two goals, while Elyssa Kipperman has 20 saves this season. They have a 2-0 win over St. John's on their resume.
