Men's Lacrosse Ranks No. 12 in Inside Lacrosse Preseason Poll

NEWARK, Del. – Delaware men's lacrosse was picked No. 12 in the Inside Lacrosse preseason poll, the organization announced on Monday.
This is the second preseason poll the Blue Hens cracked the top 20 in. They ranked No. 14 in the Nike/USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Top 20 Poll.
Delaware returns three of its top offensive players JP Ward, Mike Robinson, and Tye Kurtz. The three combined for 207 points, including 145 goals. Robinson and Kurtz both joined the 100-goal club in 2022. Kurtz has 120 career goals and is 43 away from breaking Curtis Dickson's record for goals in a career with 162. Robinson has 113 career goals and is 49 away from passing Dickson's record.
Owen Grant returns on defense for the Blue Hens. Grant is a two-time Colonial Athletics Association defensive player of the year. He holds the program record for most caused turnovers in a season (38) as well as most caused turnovers in a career (87). In September, Grant was selected third overall by the Vancouver Warriors in the National Lacrosse League draft.
The Blue Hens take on four opponents who received votes in the poll; Villanova (Feb. 26) and Michigan (March 4) at Delaware Stadium, Johns Hopkins (March 19) in Baltimore, Md., and CAA foe Stony Brook (April 15) on the road.
Delaware opens the season on Saturday, Feb. 11 with a road game against Lafayette in Easton, Pa.
