Women's Swimming & Diving Preview: Towson, Senior Day

NEWARK, Del. - The Delaware women's swimming and diving program is will celebrate Senior Day on Saturday, Jan. 28 prior to their meet against Towson. Natalie Dobrzykowski, Marietta Gately, Jenna Leonard, Erin Lillis, Charlise Oberholzer, and Mira Selling will be recognized by the program.Â
Dobrzykowski is a health behavior science major from Olney, Md. She has been named to the CAA Academic Honor Roll throughout her career, has been named to the 400 Free Relay and 800 Free Relay All-Conference team twice, and is part of the 800-free relay Delaware pool record. This season, she has finished in the top three in her events eight times.
Gately is a finance major from Baltimore, Md. She is also part of the 800-free relay pool record, and has been named to the CAA Academic Honor Roll throughout her career. This season, she has finished in the top three in her events twice. She plans to work for Wells Fargo in Charlotte, N.C.

Leonard is pre-vet major from Ridgefield, Conn. She recorded personal-best times in two events at the Bucknell Invite this season, and placed in the top-three four times, including a first-place finish last week against Seton Hall. She has been named to the CAA Academic Honor Roll throughout her career, and plans to enroll in veterinary school in the future.Â

Lillis is an exercise science major from Frederick, Md. She was named captain this season and has consistently been a contributor to the Blue Hen's success this season, placing in the top three in her events 11 times, and set three personal-bests at the Bucknell Invite. She has also been named to the CAA Academic Honor Roll throughout her career, is the team's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee team rep and is a member of Hen Minded. She is planning to attend University of Maryland for a masters in Clinical Nursing Leadership.Â

Oberholzer is an economics and finance major from Durban, South Africa, She is also a captain and was named to the 800 free relay All-CAA team a season ago, and is a CAA Academic Honor Roll member. Last week, she recorded her season-best in the 1000 free, and is also part of the 800 free relay pool record. She plans to work for Wells Fargo in Charlotte, N.C.

Selling is one of the most decorated swimmers in program history. She is a former CAA Rookie Swimmer of the Year, a five-time CAA Champion, a nine-time All-CAA honoree, and holds five Delaware swim records. She was named CAA Championship Most Outstanding Swimmer in 2022, and has earned CAA Swimmer of the Week honors six times while being named to the conference academic honor roll. Mira is majoring in accounting and Psychology and is from Dresden, Germany.

- Mira Selling, the 2022 CAA Championship Most Outstanding Performer and a five-time CAA Champion, picked up right where she left off as she finished in first place in the 100 (50.94), 200 (1:49.89), and 500 free (4:49.64).Â
- In her Blue Hen debut, Erin Shema finished in first place in the 100 back (56.44) and 200 back (2:02.31).
- In the 100 breast, Mania Tasakou (1:04.44) finished in first and second place. Tasakou (2:23.81) also finished first in the 200 breast.
- Aislinn Mitchell finished in first place (2:09.49) in the 200 fly.
- Anthi Lyra finished in first place in the 1000 free (10:29.13).
- In the 200 IM, Erin Lillis finished in first place (2:09.33).
- The 200 medley relay team of Shema, Tasakou, Mitchell, and Nicole Chiappa finished in first place (1:45.96).
- The 400 freestyle relay team of Shema, Chiappa, Lyra, and Selling came in first place with a time of 3:28.86.
- Julia Servas took first place in the 1-meter and 3-meter events, recording 265.80 points in the 1-meter and 261.30 points in the 3-meter.Â
- Selling continued her impressive start to the season with a first-place finish in the 200 fly (2:03.42). In the 100 free, she placed second with a time of 51.37.Â
- Tasakou highlighted the Blue Hens in the 100 breast with a second-place finish (1:04.95). Tasakou had another strong performance in the 200 breast with a third-place finish and season-best time of 2:20.54. Lillis finished in fifth place with a season-best time of 1:07.54 in the 100 breast and fourth place with a season-best time in the 200 breast (2:26.23).Â
- Jenna Leonard also recorded season-best times in the 100 breast (1:08.18) and 200 breast (2:27.48) and finished in sixth and fifth place in the eventsÂ
- Cristin Earley led the way for the Blue Hens in the 100 back with a fourth-place finish (58.91), while Natalie Dobrzykowski (59.59) and Mitchell (59.77) followed right behind. Shema took first place in the 200 back (2:03.91), however, while Earley placed in third with a season-best time of 2:04.03.Â
- Julia Cichowska performed well in the 100 fly (58.19) and 200 fly (2:09.84), both season-best times and placing in second and fourth. Mitchell finished in fifth place in the 100 fly with a season-best time of 58.74.
- During the 400 IM, Lillis (4:37.78), Gately (4:44.40), and Oberholzer (4:46.55) all finished in fourth, fifth, and sixth place.Â
- The 200 freestyle relay team of Shema, Chiappa, Lyra, and Selling finished in second place with a time of 1:36.90.Â
- On the diving side, Alex Pastris earned her first zone cut of the season as she had 269.33 points in the 1-meter and placed in third. Servas improved on her zone cut mark from the Blue Hens' first meet of the season with a score of 267.30 and a fourth-place finish.
- In the 3-meter diving, Pastris again placed in third with a score of 265.73, while O'Sullivan (243.08), Servas (238.65), Campbell (227.48), and Drazek (207.23) all followed.Â
- The Blue Hens defeated  William & Mary, 161.50-131.50, and James Madison, 173.50-117.50.Â
- Selling kept up her excellent start to the season, as she placed first in the 100 free (51.41), 200 free (1:51.17), and 400 IM (4:24.24). Her time in the 400 IM was a new personal best.Â
- Lyra picked up first-place finishes in the 500 free (5:02.61) and 1000 free (10:22.30), both personal-best times.
- In the 100 back, Shema led the way with a first-place time of 56.78. Shema also finished in first place in the 200 back (2:03.08).
- Tasakou finished in first place in the 200 breast (2:22.39). Alexandra Misikova was Delaware's top finisher in the 100 fly (58.38), and finished in fourth place in the 200 fly (2:09.59), both personal-bests.
- The 200 medley relay team of Shema, Tasakou, Mitchell, and Chiappa finished in third place (1:46.14). The 400 free relay team of Shema, Lyra, Chiappa, and Selling finished in first place (3:28.25).
- In the 1-meter dive, Pastris came in first place (286.65), Servas in fifth place (257.63), and O'Sullivan in seventh place (253.88). In the 3-meter, Patris (279.30), Campbell (264.98), and O'Sullivan (261.60) all came three-four-five. Pastris' score in the 1-meter improved on her NCAA Zone Cut mark, which was previously at 269.33.Â
- The Blue Hens defeated Rider, 244.00-46.00, and tied La Salle at 149.50, on Nov. 11.
- Shema finished in first place in the 100 back (57.18) for the third time this season. She also placed first in the 100 free (52.43) and in the 200 IM (2:05.88).Â
- Selling finished in first place in the 200 fly (2:04.02) for the third time this season.Â
- Tasakou highlighted the Blue Hens in the 100 breast with a first-place finish (1:04.77).Â
- Lyra finished in first place in the 500 free (5:04.25) for the second consecutive meet.Â
- The Blue Hens finished in four of the top five spots in the 1-meter dive, led by a second-place finish by Pastris (243.20). O'Sullivan (218.10), Drazek (217.19), and Campbell (213.19) all followed. In the 3-meter dive, Pastris (262.65), O'Sullivan (248.95), Campbell (228.10), and Drazek (203.60) all placed in second, third, fourth, and fifth place.Â
- Delaware finished in third place at the Bucknell Invitational with 1101.5 points.Â
- Selling originally set the 200 IM Delaware record during preliminaries, then re-broke it during the finals with a time of 1:59.01 to finish in second place. Selling also set the program record in the 400 IM with a time of 4:16.49.Â
- Shema set the 100 back school record as the lead in the 400 medley relay, as she finished with a split of 54.59 to set the mark. She then re-broke the record during day two with a time 54.42.Â
- The team of Shema, Tasakou, Mitchell, and Selling set the program record in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:41.34 and finished in first place.Â
- Earley set a new program record in the 200 back with a time of 1:59.57.Â
- Selling came in first place in the 100 free and 200 free and 200 fly.Â
- Shema came in first place in the 100 back.Â
- The 400 medley relay team of Shema, Tasakou, Mitchell, and Selling came in first place, while the 800 free relay team of Lyra, Dobrzykowski, Chiappa, and Selling placed first.Â
- Delaware defeated West Chester, 147-96, on Friday, Dec. 2.
- Selling won the 100 free (51.33) and the 200 free (1:49.55).Â
- Anthi Lyra finished in first place in the 500 free (5:08.17) and 1000 free (10:30.46).
- Shema continued her season dominance in the 200 IM with another first-place finish (2:08.02). Shema also placed first in the 100 back (57.71).Â
- The 400 free relay team of Shema, Dobrzykowski, Lyra, and Selling finished in first place with a time of 3:29.40.
- In the 1-meter dive, Rowan O'Sullivan led the way with a score of 222.83, finishing first. Jordan Campbell (214.73) and Ella Drazek (214.73) both finished right behind. Drazek placed first in the 3-meter dive with a score of 219.68, while O'Sullivan (218.03) and Campbell (211.88) finished second and third.
- Delaware's defeated Drexel, 151.5-88.5, to open 2023. It's the Blue Hens' seventh straight win this season, while still continuing their stretch to begin the season without a loss, and their second against a CAA team this season (William & Mary, Nov. 5).Â
- Servas highlighted the Blue Hens a first-place finish in the 1-meter dive with a score of 270.45, good for an NCAA Zone Cut. Servas also finished in first place in the three-meter dive with a score of 297.45.
- Shema took first place in the 200 IM (2:08.97)
- Cichowskia (2:08:09) and Mitchell(2:08.99) both took the top two spots in the 200 fly.
- Tasakou highlighted the Blue Hens in the 200 breast with a time of 2:22.47 to take first place.
- Selling finished in first place in the 100 free (51.78) and 200 free (1:52.18), both for the fifth time this season.
- Lyra won the 500 free for the fourth time this season with a time of 5:07.94.
- The quartet of Shema, Lyra, Dobrzykowski, and Selling finished in first place in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:30.30.
- Delaware defeated Seton Hall, 207-93.
- Selling led Delaware with three individual first-place finishes and a victory in a relay. She finished with a time of 23.61 in the 50 free, a time of 50.64 in the 100 free, and a time of 4:58.90 in the 500 free to claim the top spots.Â
- Lyra took first place in the 200 free with a time of 1:53.95.
- Mania Tasakou with took first place in the 100 breast with a time of 1:06.96, while Leonard finished in first place in the 200 breast with a time of 2:24.72.Â
- In the 100Â back, Shema finished in first place with a time of 58.07. Shema also won the 200 back with a time of 2:06.15 and 200 IM (2:09.25).
- In the 100 fly, Mitchell finished in first place (58.03).
- The team of Shema, Tasakou, Mitchell, and Lyra finished in first place in the 200-medley relay with a time of 1:47.06. Lyra, Chiappa, Dobrzykowski, and Selling took first place in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:28.95.
- Servas won the 1-meter dive with a score of 285.83, and the 3-meter dive with a score of 273.68.Â
- Pastris was named CAA Rookie Diver of the Month for October and November.Â
- Selling was named CAA Swimmer of the Week and Servas was named CAA Diver of the Week for her performances against Seton Hall.Â
- Selling was named CAA Swimmer of the Week on Jan. 10 after her performance against Drexel.Â
- Selling was named CAA Swimmer of the Week on Oct. 11 after her performance against UMBC and Johns Hopkins and Nov. 22 after the Bison Invite.Â
- Pastris was named CAA Diver of the Week on Oct. 25, after her performance against Yale and Nov. 8, after her performance against William & Mary and James Madison.
- Shema was named CAA Swimmer of the Week and Pastris and was named CAA Diver of the Week on Nov. 15 after competing against La Salle and Rider.Â
