Covino Named to Perfect Game Preseason All-CAA Team

NEWARK, Del. – Infielder Dan Covino was named to the Perfect Game/Rawlings Preseason All-CAA team at the second base position, Perfect Game announced Monday morning.

Covino, who comes over from Central Connecticut State, was named to the All-NEC First Team after a season where he slashed .328/.441/.571 with nine home runs and 59 RBI, finishing the year with a monster 1.020 OPS.

Covino was first on the Blue Devils with 19 doubles while finishing second on the roster in several major categories, including hits (60), home runs (9), RBI (59), walks (36), on-base percentage (.441), slugging (.579) and OPS (1.020), also earning first team All-ECAC and NEIBA All-New England.

The Weston, Conn. native was on the All-NEC Second Team during the 2021 season and will look to anchor the Delaware lineup in the 2023 season.

Delaware opens its 2023 campaign at the home of the defending national champions, traveling to Oxford for a series with Ole Miss.
