GREENVILLE, N.C. – Sparky Ariyachatvakin and Arsit Areephun combined to shoot 9-under par during Tuesday's final round to lead the University of Delaware men's golf team to a ninth-place finish at the 14-team Ironwood Collegiate Classic, hosted by East Carolina. Playing three rounds in two days at the par-72 Ironwood Country Club, the Blue Hens turned in team scores of 288-296-286 to finish at 6-over par 870.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Delaware totaled 55 birdies and an eagle over the three rounds, turning in team rounds of even par and 2-under par. The Blue Hens had six individual rounds at even par or better.
Areephun opened the tournament with a 4-under par 68 in Monday's first round, turning in five birdies and an eagle. He wrapped things up with five more birdies on Tuesday as he carded a 69 to move into the top 10.
Ariyachatvakin shot up the leaderboard on Tuesday as he poured in seven birdies, including four-straight at one point, for a 6-under par 66, which is tied for the eighth-best round in Delaware history.
Najburg turned in an even-par 72 in the first round and Zubov carded a 2-under par 70 in the second round.
Playing as an individual, Homer had four birdies on the back nine during Tuesday's round to finish at 3-under par 69.

UP NEXT
The Blue Hens will travel down to Florida next week for the USF Invitational. The two-day tournament will be held October 9-10 at the Southern Hills Plantation Club in Brooksville, Fla.
