Men's Swimming & Diving Earns Two First Place Finishes At Rutgers Invitational

Piscataway, N.J. – The Delaware men's swimming & diving team earned two first place finishes on day two of the Rutgers Invitational on Saturday.

- The top individual placement came from Gavin Currie, who won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:48.45. Kaloyan Levterov also finished fifth at 1:51.61.
- Currie was also a member of the 200-yard medley relay team that came in first. Currie, along with Toni Sabev, Jack Hattery and Matvei Namakonov finished with a time of 1:30.72.
- The Blue Hens had two top-three finishers in the 100-yard free style. Toni Sabev led the way with a second-place finish (55.01 seconds) with Hattery following close behind and finished in third (57.50 seconds).
- Hattery also finished third in the 200-yard breaststroke at 1:51.12.
- Evan Frick and Jack Gibson both finished in the top five in the 200-yard breaststroke. Frick came in third at 2:05.05 while Gibson was fifth at 2:08.36.
- Kevin Siegfried was third in the 1-meter dive with a score of 262.95.
- Miguel Vasquez came in third in the 100-yard freestyle (45.72 seconds).
- Dylan Smolders came in fourth (4:05.52) in the 400 IM.
- The men's 400-yard IM team of Vasquez, Toni Sabev, Gavin Currie, and Matvei Namakonov finished fourth at 3:05.72

- The Blue Hens will host their meet of the season against Yale on Oct. 21 at the Harry W. Rawstorm Natatorium in the Carpenter Sports Building at noon. It will be the first of four home meets for the Blue Hens this season.
