Williemsen Earns First Place Finish In 100-Yard Freestyle at Rutgers Invitational

Piscataway, N.J. – The Delaware women's swimming & diving freshman Olivia Willemsen earned a firstplace finish in the 100-yard freestyle on day two of the Rutgers Inivtiational on Saturday

RESULTS
- Willemsen had the top individual finish for the Blue Hens. She won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 52.06 seconds. Following Willemsen was Erin Shema, who came in fifth at 52.74 seconds. Willemsen also finished fifth in the 200-yard butterfly 1:55.11).
- Aislinn Mitchell had the top finish of the morning session. She came in second in the 100yard butterfly with a time of 56.31 seconds.
- Mania Tasakou took third place in the 100 yard breast strike (1:04.46) and fifth in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:22.64).
- The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Anthi Lyra, Erin Shema, Olivia Williemsen, and Nicole Chiappa finished third with a tome of 3:31.53.
- The 200-yard medley relay team of Shema, Tasakou, Mitchell and Williemsem finished third at 1:45.63.
- Sara Smith finished fourth in the 200 yard backstroke (2:04.56).
- The Blue Hens had multiple top five finishers in the 3-meter dive. Alex Pastris finished in fourth with a score of 262.65. Julia Servas was fifth with a score of 252.75.
- The Blue Hens will host their meet of the season against Yale on Oct. 21 at the Harry W. Rawstorm Natatorium in the Carpenter Sports Building at noon. It will be the first of four home meets for the Blue Hens this season.
