Tasakou Breaks Program Record at West Virginia Invitational

MORGANTOWN, W. VA. – The Delaware women's swimming & diving athlete Mania Tasakou broke the program record in the 100 breaststroke on day two of the West Virginia Invitational on Friday.
Tasakou broke her own record in the event of 1:01.67 in the 100 breaststroke prelims. She finished third overall in the finals at 1:01.76. Her previous record timed in at 1:01.60.
At the end of day two, the Blue Hens sit in fourth place with 312 points.
RESULTS
Day three of the West Virginia Invitational kicks off at 10 a.m. tomorrow.

RESULTS
- UD's 800 freestyle team of Erin Shema, Aislinn Mitchell, Bella Granetzke and Lauren Hartel came in second (7:27.64).
- Aislinn Mitchell finished third in the 100 fly (54.67 seconds).
- Delaware's 200 medley relay team of Agnes Cruz, Tasakou, Mitchell and Nicoe Chiappa finished fifth (1:42.12).
- Shema (1:49.80) and Hartel (1:50.27) were fourth and ninth in the 200 free.
- Sara Smith (4:28.11) and Crissy Earley (4:38.01) were seventh and eighth in the 400 IM.
- Cruz was eighth in the 100 backstroke (57.50 seconds).
Day three of the West Virginia Invitational kicks off at 10 a.m. tomorrow.
