Abidullina Garners CAA Women's Tennis Player of the Week Honors

RICHMOND, Va. – Delaware's Adel-Byanu Abidullina has been named the CAA Women's Tennis Player of the Week for her performances against St. John's and Monmouth, the league announced Tuesday.
Abidullina went 2-0 at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles as Delaware extended its winning streak to five with victories over St. John's (6-1) and CAA foe Monmouth (7-0). The grad student beat St. John's Lalita Devarakonda, 6-2, 6-4, and blanked Monmouth's Ann Spurka, 6-0, 6-0. Abidullina and partner Eliza Askarova, who are ranked No. 3 nationally, also rolled to a pair of 6-1 decisions in doubles last week.
Delaware returns to competition on Friday at noon against Rutgers at Delcastle Tennis Center.
