Selling Wins Another Title During Day Three Of CAA Championships For Women's Swimming & Diving

HAMPTON Va. - Mira Selling won her third consecutive 200 free CAA Championship and set a new Delaware program record with a time of 1:45.56 during day three of the conference championships on Friday. Selling now has won seven CAA titles in her career, including three so far this week, and is the fourth CAA athlete all-time to win three straight 200 free titles.Â
Aislinn Mitchell finished in fourth place in the 100 fly with a new Delaware program record time of 54.17. In the 100 back, Erin Shema (55.07) and Cristin Earley (55.79) finished in fifth and seventh, and Makennah Fickett placed 15th (56.20). Mania Tasakou finished in fifth place in the 100 breast with a time of 1:01.89, while Jenna Leonard placed 13th (1:03.89) and Erin Lillis placed 16th (1:04.21). In the 400 IM, Lillis placed eighth (4:27.74) and Earley placed ninth (4:23.02). Also in the 200 free, Anthi Lyra (1:50.10), Natalie Dobrzykowski (1:50.55), Nicole Chiappa (1:51.36), and Bella Granetzke (1:52.25) finished 10th, 11th, 13, and 15h in the 200 free. The 200 free relay team of Lyra, Dobrzykowski, Mitchell, and Chiappa finished in sixth place with a time of 1:33.31.
Delaware currently sits in fourth place heading into the meet's final day trailing UNCW (512.5), William & Mary (369.5), and Northeastern (358). They lead Towson (280), Drexel (227), Monmouth (130), and Stony Brook (114). Tomorrow's preliminaries begin at 10:00 a.m., while diving preliminaries begin at 12:30 p.m. Finals are scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.Â
