Nelson Jr. Wins CAA Player of the Week for the Second Week in a Row

RICHMOND, Va. – Delaware guard Jameer Nelson Jr. has been named CAA Player of the Week for the second-consecutive week, the league announced Monday. This is his third award this season.
Nelson Jr. averaged 26.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game as the Hens won a pair of road contests to clinch the sixth seed in the CAA Tournament.
In a hard-fought win at NC A&T, Nelson led all scorers with 30 points, making him just the second Blue Hen to post back-to-back 30-point outings since at least 1990.
He followed that up with a game-best 22 points at Elon.
The Blue Hens return to action as the sixth seed in the CAA Tournament on Saturday when they take on No. 11 Northeastern at 8:30 p.m.
