Vasilenko Tabbed CAA Women’s Tennis Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Delaware's Alina Vasilenko has been named CAA Women's Tennis Player of the Week after her performances against Hofstra and George Washington, the league announced Tuesday.

Vasilenko went 2-0 in singles and doubles last week as Delaware posted team victories over Hofstra (7-0) and George Washington (6-1). Playing at the No. 1 singles spot, the sophomore beat Hofstra's Jimena Garbino, 6-3, 6-1, and rallied past GW's Stella Wiesemann, 3-6, 6-4, 7-5. Vasilenko also got a win at No. 1 doubles vs. Hofstra and No. 2 doubles against GW as Delaware pushed its winning streak to 10 matches.

The Blue Hens return to action on Wednesday when they take on Temple.
