Whitehead Selected to USWNT U-18 Tour Roster

"Congratulations to Rachael for being named to the USA U18 national team," head coach Rolf van de Kerkhof said. "All throughout the recruiting process it was clear she wanted to be the best she could be for her high school (Tatnall), commit to a top Division 1 program and play for Team USA one day. Very impressive that she was able to accomplish all of this in a four to five year window. I know she is going to enjoy representing Team USA at the U18 level during their European Tour next month. We can't wait to hear all about her experiences upon her return and to witness the gains she will bring home after competing against some of the best youth teams in the world; The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. I hope she has a blast and knows she will make the University of Delaware field hockey program proud."
The selection came following a training camp for the U-18 squad, which took place at Queens University in Charlotte, N.C. from March 10 to 12. The team has been preparing to compete at a high international level in anticipation of a respective April tour.The U-18 USWNT will kick off their tour in Utrecht, The Netherlands against the Oranje U-16 Women's National Team at the SV Kampong on Monday, April 3, then head to Antwerp, Belgium to take on Belgium's U-18 Women's National Team on Tuesday, April 4. In addition, the squad will travel to the e.V. Düsseldorf in Düsseldorf, Germany where they will compete against Germany's U-18 Women's National Team on Thursday, April 6.
