No. 17/19/19 Men's Lacrosse Drops Home Game Against Michigan

NEWARK, Del. – No. 17/19/19 Delaware men's lacrosse dropped a home game against Michigan 16-12 on Saturday at Delaware Stadium.
With the loss, Delaware drops to 3-2 on the season, while Michigan improves to 3-2.
After Michigan ended the first quarter with a 4-3 lead, the Blue Hens outscored the Wolverines 6-0 to start the second quarter. The run started with a Clay Miller goal two-minutes into the quarter. Following Miller's goal, Tye Kurtz scored a ridiculous goal to take the lead. Kurtz stretched his stick and dove around the Michigan defenders to score the one-handed goal.
After Kurtz goal, JP Ward, Finn Morgan, and Kurtz added goals to take it an 8-4 game. The run ended with a Matt Acchione goal, who was assisted by this brother, Cam Acchione.
The Wolverines finished the half with two goals to cut the Blue Hens lead to 9-6, including a goal as time expired. They proceeded to rip off seven straight goals to start the second half. Miller ended the Wolverines run with a man-up goal to cut the Wolverines lead to 13-10.
Despite fourth quarter goals from Kurtz, and Ward, the Blue Hens were unable to mount a comeback in the second half.
Individually, the Blue Hens were led by Kurtz, and Miller. Kurtz had four goals, and two assists. Miller had two goals, and two assists. Matt Kilkeary was credited with the decision. He had seven saves. He's record is now 3-2.
On the day, the Blue Hens out-shot the Wolverines 44-38, and had a 24-23 shots-on-goal advantage.
The Blue Hens have a quick turnaround, and host UMBC on Tuesday, March 7 at 7 p.m. at Delaware Stadium. It is the fourth game of a five-game home stand.
