Women’s Tennis Cruises to 6-1 Win at Navy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Delaware women's tennis (9-2) cruised to a 6-1 win Saturday at Navy (9-4). The victory extends the Blue Hens' win streak to eight matches.
"It's always a competitive match when we play Navy," Director of Tennis Pablo Montana said. "The doubles point was big and every match was heated. In singles, it was no different as every match was a nail biter. We are playing with a lot of confidence, and we will continue running to the roar."
Delaware jumped out to tan early lead with a clean sweep in doubles play.
Singles action saw some difficult matchups, but the Hens ultimately found a way to pull out five wins. Alina Vasilenko, Toni Nelson, and Maryia Hrynashka picked up straight-set victories, while Adel-Byanu Abidullina and Eliza Askarova overcame a setback in one set.
Delaware returns to play on Saturday at Hofstra.
