Men's Lacrosse Improves Rankings in Latest Major Polls

NEWARK, Del. – Delaware men's lacrosse moved up in all three major polls, the organizations announced on Monday.
The Blue Hens are ranked No. 15 in the USILA, No. 16 in the Inside Lacrosse, and No. 17 in the USA Lacrosse magazine polls.
Delaware enters the week 8-3 overall, and 4-0 in Colonial Athletic Association play. UD is in a two-way tie for first place in the conference with Drexel, who is currently on a five game winning streak
The Blue Hens are coming off a 17-7 win against Fairfield on Saturday, April 8. In Saturday's contest, Tye Kurtz broke both the programs point, and goals records. The points record was previously held by Anthony DiMarzo, and the goals record was held by Curtis Dickson. Kurtz currently has 164 career goals, and 256 career points
Offensively, the Blue Hens are led by Kurtz, and JP Ward.
Kurtz enters the week with 62 points off 42 goals and 20 assists. He is tied for first in the country in points, and second in goals scored. He has scored at least three goals in nine of the Blue Hens 11 contests
Ward is second on the Blue Hens in points with 56 points off 32 assists and 25 goals. Both Kurtz and Ward lead the CAA in points, and assists.
Defensively, Delaware is led by Owen Grant, and Matt Kilkeary. Grant leads the Blue Hens in caused turnovers with 22, and has scored at point in each of the last five games. Kilkeary boasts a 8.42 goals against average, which is the best in the conference, third in the NCAA, and has a .559 save percentage, also best in the conference ad eighth in the NCAA. Over the last three games, Kilkeary posted a .680 save percentage, and has allowed an average of 5.0 goals per game.
The Blue Hens travels to Stony Brook, N.Y. to take on CAA foe Stony Brook on Saturday, April 15 at 3 p.m.
