Grant Receives CAA Co-Defensive Player of the Week Honors

RICHMOND, Va. – Delaware redshirt senior defender Owen Grant was named the Colonial Athletic Association's Co-Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
This is the second time this season Grant was awarded the conference's defensive player of the week, dating back to March 13. He is the third player on the Blue Hens, along with Tye Kurtz and JP Ward, to receive a conference player of the week award.
Grant led a defensive unit that held the second-ranked offensive attack in the conference to single-digit goals as the Blue Hens remained undefeated in CAA play with a 12-9 win over Stony Brook. The redshirt senior defender tallied three caused turnovers, three ground balls and added one point with his sixth goal this season.
Grant has at least three caused turnovers in four of his past five games and six times this season.
He ranks seventh in the NCAA in caused turnovers per game (2.08). He had 25 caused turnovers on the season, and is 10 away from tying his program record for most caused turnovers in a season. During his Delaware career, Grant has caused 114 caused turnovers.
The Blue Hens return to Delaware Stadium for their final regular season home game against Drexel on Saturday, April 22.
