Vasilenko Named CAA Women’s Tennis Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Delaware's Alina Vasilenko has been named CAA Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Vasilenko posted a 3-0 mark in singles and a 4-0 record in doubles in Delaware's 4-0 week, that included CAA wins over Drexel (4-0) and Towson (4-0). The sophomore battled past Drexel's Renata Lombera, 6-0. 4-6, 1-0 (10-8) and downed Towson's Olivia Rothfeld, 6-2, 7-6 (5) in league play at No. 2 singles, and moved up to No. 1 vs. Morgan State and beat Averiana Mitchell, 6-2, 6-4.
Delaware returns to action as the No. 2 seed in the CAA Championship and will take on the winner of No. 7 Drexel and No. 10 Monmouth at 3 p.m. on Friday.
