Men's Lacrosse Improves Rankings in Major Polls

NEWARK, Del. – Delaware men's lacrosse improves its rankings in all three major polls, the organizations announced on Monday.
The Blue Hens enter this week ranked No. 13 in the Inside Lacrosse, No. 14 in the USA Lacrosse Magazine, and No. 15 in the USILA polls.
Delaware enters the week 9-3, and 6-0 in the Colonial Athletic Association, and is coming off an 18-13 win over Drexel. With the win over the Dragons, Delaware is set to host the conference tournament from May 4-6.
Offensively, the Blue Hens are led by Tye Kurtz and JP Ward. The two are first and second in the conference in assists.
Kurtz enters the week with 68 points off 46 goals, and 22 assists. Kurtz ranked third in the country in points, and is tied for third in goals. Kurtz has scored at least two goals in every game this season, and has registered at least four goals in eight of the Blue Hens 13 games this season.
Ward enters the week with 63 points off 26 goals and 37 assists. Ward is tied for second in the country in assists, and tied for seventh in points. He has recorded at least a goal and an assist in 11 of the Blue Hens 13 games.
Defensively, the Blue Hens are led by Owen Grant, and Matt Kilkeary.
Grant leads is tied for fifth in the country in caused turnovers with 30, and is six away from breaking his own program record for caused turnovers in a season. Grant was also named the conference's defensive player of the week on Monday.
Kilkeary is third in the country in goals against average at 8.83, and is 11th in save percentage at .541. Kilkeary has allowed less than 10 goals in four of the last five conference games.
The Blue Hens close regular season play with a road game against Towson on Saturday
