Covino Named CAA Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Delaware baseball second baseman Dan Covino was named CAA Player of the Week for his performance in the Hens' four games last week, the league announced on Monday.
Covino rebounded from a tough weekend in Elon to put up one of his best performances of the year, batting .474 (9-19) with a triple, home run and four RBIs against Saint Joseph's and Charleston, leading Delaware to a 4-0 week.
The Weston, Conn. native batted .571 (8-14), scored six times and drove in four vs. CofC, including a season-high four hits on Friday and three on Saturday. He also walked four times for a .565 on-base percentage.
This is the Blue Hens' second CAA Player of the Week honor and first since Joey Loynd won it on Feb. 27.
Delaware is back in action on Tuesday taking on Lafayette for the second round of the Liberty Bell Classic.
