Kurtz, Grant Receive Inside Lacrosse All-American Recognition

NEWARK, Del. — Delaware men's lacrosse defender Owen Grant, and attackman Tye Kurtz were named to the Inside Lacrosse All-American team, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Grant was named to the first-team, while Kurtz was named to the third-team.
For the first time in his career, Grant receives the first-team All-American nod. He is the first Blue Hen ever to receive first-team All-American recognition from Inside Lacrosse, and the first Blue Hen since John Grant to be named a first team All-American back in 1999 by USILA. In addition, this is the third year in a row Grant is named a Inside Lacrosse All-American. In 2021, the redshirt senior defender from Newmarket, Ontario was named a third team All-American, and was a second-team All-American in 2022.
This season, Grant has caused 38 turnovers, which broke his own program record for most caused turnovers in a season he set last season at 35. He has caused a turnover in 16 of the Blue Hens 18 games, including 11 games with at least two. On the offensive end, he's scored seven goals, and added three assists. He scored a goal in four of the Blue Hens seven conference games, and one goal in the CAA Tournament. For the third year in a row, Grant was named the conference's Defensive Player of the Year, the first player in CAA history to do so.
Kurtz has had one of the most productive offensive seasons in program history. The redshirt senior from Puslinch, Ontario leads the Blue Hens in goals with 58, and points with 88. Kurtz has registered at least two goals in 16 of the Blue Hens 18 games this season, including nine goals in two NCAA Tournament games. He was named the conference's Offensive Player of the Year, and was a Tewaaraton nominee. Earlier in the season, Kurtz broke the program record for goals, points, and man-up goals in a career, as well as consecutive games with at least a point. In addition, he was also named to the CAA All-Tournament team after Delaware clinched its second straight berth in the NCAA Tournament.
Both Kurtz and Grant were drafted in the NLL, and PLL draft. Grant was drafted third overall by the Vancouver Warriors in the NLL draft, and second overall by the Redwoods Lacrosse Club in the PLL draft. Kurtz was drafted 17th overall in both drafts. He in the NLL, he was selected by the Albany Firewolves, and in the PLL draft, he was drafted by the Chaos Lacrosse Club.
