Blue Hens Ranked in Pair of Preseason National Polls

NEWARK, Del. – Coming off of a strong 2022 season that included a big playoff victory at Delaware Stadium, the University of Delaware football team has found itself included in a pair of national preseason polls. The Blue Hens came in at No. 25 in the Athlon Sports' FCS Preseason Top 25 and are receiving votes in the HERO Sports Preseason Top 25 poll.
Delaware reached as high as No. 6 in the country last season following its 5-0 start that included a 14-7 season-opening victory over Navy. The Blue Hens finished the 2022 season, the first of the Ryan Carty era, with an 8-5 overall record and qualified for the FCS Championship where they advanced to the second round after scoring a program playoff record 56 points in a 56-17 win over Saint Francis (Pa.).
The Blue & Gold will open the 2023 season on Thursday, August 31 at Stony Brook. Tickets for the 2023 football season are on sale now and can be purchased HERE.
