Loynd Named to ABCA/Rawlings East All-Region Second Team

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware infielder Joey Loynd has been selected to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings NCAA Division 1 East All-Region Second Team, the organization announced on Tuesday, June 13.
Loynd appeared and started in 59 of the Blue Hens games this season. He led the Colonial Athletic Association in batting average at .392, and was third in on-base plus slugging at 1.146. He is one of 10 athletes in the conference to have an OPS over 1.000.
The redshirt junior out of Doylestown, Pa. also led the Blue Hens in hits with 93, home runs with 14, runs batted in with 80, on base percentage at .454, and slugging percentage at .692. Loynd was recognized as a first team All-CAA athlete for the second year in a row earlier in May.
Loynd currently plays for the Bourne Braves, a summer collegiate baseball team in the Cape Cod Baseball League.
