Garber Tabbed CAA NCAA Woman of the Year Nominee

INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Delaware softball team's Hanna Garber has been selected as one of the CAA's representatives for the NCAA Woman of the Year award, the league announced Wednesday.
The NCAA Woman of the Year award, established in 1991, honors graduating female student-athletes who have distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in the areas of academic achievement, athletics excellence, service, and leadership.
Garber was a five-year starter for the Blue Hens and accumulated a 3.78 GPA while earning her undergraduate degree in Mathematics Education. Off the field, Garber was a Delaware SAAC member all five years, including her final two years on the executive board. The Lancaster, Pa. native was also successful in the classroom, being named to the CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll nine semesters and earning Easton/NFCA Scholar-Athlete All-America honors in 2019.
On the field, Garber was a three-time All-CAA First Team selection and the 2022 CAA Defensive Player of the Year. In addition, she helped the Blue Hens earn back-to-back CAA Softball Regular Season titles in 2022 and 2023, the first in program history. Garber was a .350 hitter for her career, with 229 hits and posted a .433 on-base percentage during her five seasons. A mainstay for the program, she finished her career as Delaware's all-time leader for runs scored (161) while ranking second in conference history in triples (23) and sixth in stolen bases (81).
