Ariyachatvakin Leads Men’s Golf to Fourth Place Finish at Red Bandanna Invitational

VERONA, N.Y. – The University of Delaware men's golf team had a strong showing in its first tournament of the 2022-23 season, finishing in a tie for fourth place in a 15-team field at the Red Bandanna Invitational, hosted by Boston College at Turning Stone Resort.

The Blue Hens will return to action next week, making their first trip to North Carolina for the River Run Collegiate, hosted by Davidson. The two-day tournament will be held September 11-12 in Cornelius, North Carolina.

HENS HIGHLIGHTS
- The Blue Hens turned in a three-round score of 32-over par 896 to tie with Longwood University. Delaware carded an 18-over par 306 in Sunday's first round before bouncing back with scores of 291 and 299.
- Sparky Ariyachatvakin led Delaware as he tied for fifth overall at 1-over par 217. He went under par in both the second (-4) and third (-2) rounds to get himself into the top five.
- Jack Halleron tied for 21st overall at 10-over par. He turned in a 1-over par 73 in Monday's final round to climb five spots in the individual standings.
- In their first collegiate rounds in the Blue & Gold, Arsit Areephun and Jeffrey Homer tied for 31st at 14-over par.
- Elliot Haas rounded out the UD lineup at 20-over par to tie for 44th overall.
- Playing as an individual, Michael Najburg made his collegiate debut and finished at 34-over par.
