NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's soccer team was met with slamming success during its Thursday evening home match against UNCW, finishing 3-1.
Delaware's overall record for the season elevates to 6-4-2 and UNCW will sink to 3-5-4. This conference win for the Hens will now tie their CAA record with UNCW at 2-3.
ON THE RECORD - "I'm delighted with the performance tonight," head coach Tommy McMenemy said. "We executed our game plan and played to our identity - and we were able to weather the moments in the game in which UNCW threatened. When we move the ball like we did in the first half, we're hard to live with, and our first goal was as good a team goal as you'll see in college soccer. I'm happy for every player in the squad because they had a great week of training, and they deserve to enjoy this one."
HEN HIGHLIGHTS
The Hens return home for a non-conference Tuesday match against George Washington at 7 p.m.
