WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - University of Delaware volleyball was defeated in four sets (21-25, 21-25, 25-20, 23-25) on Oct. 13 in a road CAA matchup.Â

HEN HIGHLIGHTSÂ
- Raina Hughes had her best game as a Blue Hen with a match-high tying 15 kills, a .433 hitting percentage, and two blocks.
- Lily Rogers had a match-high 48 assists with 16 digs, four kills, three aces, and two blocks.
- Savannah Seemans 14 kills, and 14 digs.Â
- Kirah Johnson had 10 kills and two blocks.
- Emily Chrysogelos had seven kills and nine digs.
- Asia Murray had five kills and two blocks.
- Cadence Nguyen had 19 digs.
- Hannah Wright had seven digs and two aces.
FIRST SET
- Much of the first set was a seesaw affair before Delaware took a 14-12 lead after back-to-back kills from Gillens and Seemans. With the score even at 16, UD scored three straight points on two kills from Hughes and one from Seemans to take their largest lead.Â
- W&M scored nine of the final 12 points to take the set.Â
- Seemans led UD with four kills, and Rogers had 11 assists.Â
- Delaware battled back from a 10-7 deficit and evened the score at 13 after a kill by Seemans. With W&M up 17-14, Delaware scored five of the next six points and seven of the next 10 to go up 21-20. Hughes had three kills in a five-point span.
- The Tribe took the set by scoring the final five points.Â
- Hughes had five kills in the set, and Rogers had 13 assists and five digs.
- Delaware stayed alive with a set three victory, led by three kills each by Hughes, Johnson, Chrysogelos, and Seemans. Rogers had 10 assists and Nguyen had seven digs.
- W&M started quickly to take a 10-4 lead, but Delaware got going to eventually take a 15-14 advantage. A kill by Hughes and two W&M errors put UD ahead 18-15.Â
- The Tribe cut the Delaware lead to 19-18, but two kills by Chrysolgelos and kills by Johnson, Seemans, and Hughes helped close out the set as the Blue Hens scored six of the last eight points of the third.Â
- The Tribe immediately went up 9-2. Delaware got a 5-0 run started by back-to-back kills by Hughes and Rogers and finished with a kill from Seemans. W&M went back up 15-10 shortly after.
- The Hens fought back again, using a 4-0 run to even the score at 17 with Hughes and Seemans leading the charge. The score remained tied at 18, 19, 20, and 21, but W&M scored four of the last six points to finish off the match.Â
- Hughes and Seemans each had four kills in the set, and Rogers had 14 assists. She also added five digs.Â
MATCH NOTES
- Rogers again starred for UD, as she has averaged 11 assists per set over Delaware's last seven matches. She had 48 assists and 30 digs in eight sets played this weekend. She is up to 1,328 career assists.Â
- Hughes had a season-best and equaled her career-best of 15 kills, last done on Nov. 10, 2022 against Florida State while she was playing for Syracuse. Over her last four games, she is hitting .382 with 36 kills.Â
- Seemans upped her career kill total to 989. She has recorded double-digit digs in six straight matches and has five double-doubles this season.Â
- Johnson now is at 377 career blocks - three shy of tying Niecy Taylor for eight in program history.Â
- Nguyen had 37 digs in eight sets this weekend.Â
- Chrysogelos' seven kills were career-high.Â
