PHILADELPHIA – A fourth quarter surge proved to be the difference for University of Delaware field hockey Sunday afternoon as the Blue Hens rolled past Penn, 2-1. UD moves to 8-8 on the season, while the Quakers drop to 4-12.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Janne Stoetzer led all players with three points on a goal and an assist.
Iris Bekker scored the game-winning goal off a feed from Valentina Martorell and Stoetzer on a penalty corner.
Noelle Sabbagh also picked up an assist on the Stoetzer score.
Cecile van Eijck (8-8) tallied six saves in the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Penn found the back of the cage about halfway through third frame for the 1-0 lead.
Less than three minutes into the final frame, Stoetzer scored the equalizer after a midfield takeaway by the Hens with a feed from Sabbagh.
With just under three minutes remaining in regulation, Delaware used a penalty corner and a Bakker blast to go ahead 2-1.
