Men’s Lacrosse Welcomes 2025 Newcomers

NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Ben DeLuca officially welcomed the newcomers for the 2025 season.
"Our coaching staff is excited to welcome these young men to the University of Delaware's Class of 2028," DeLuca said. "We believe this group addresses key areas of need for our program while enhancing the toughness, athleticism, and skill of our team. Off of the field, they each bring strong character, a competitive edge, and a relentless work ethic. We are thrilled to officially welcome these young men and their families to the Fightin' Blue Hens Lacrosse program."
The 17-member class, which includes 13 freshmen and four transfers, features recruits from Colorado, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
#1 Bennett Parmer | Attack | Freshman | Lancaster, Pa. | Manheim Township
Parmer competed for Manheim Township High School and was a four-year starter. He served as a captain for his senior season. Parmer helped his team win two district championships in 2022 and 2023. His team reached the state semifinals in 2023 and the state quarterfinals in 2022 and 2024.
#4 Cory Capri | Attack/Midfield | Graduate | East Northport, N.Y. | Yale
Capri comes to Delaware after transferring from Yale. He made his collegiate debut for the Bulldogs in 2023 against Dartmouth, his only action for Yale. He was a four-year starter at John H. Glenn High School before completing a post-grad year at the Hill School. Capri served as a captain for his sophomore, junior, and senior seasons at John H. Glenn.
#5 Jack Kolbe | Midfield | Junior | Robbinsville, N.J. | Merrimack
Kolbe, a transfer from Merrimack, played in 15 games over two seasons for the Warriors. In 2024, he started 12 games, recording 23 points (21 goals and two assists) with two game-winners. Kolbe crossed the 100-goal threshold for Robbinsville High School (2019-21) and Southern Regional High School (2022) as a three-year starter from 2020-22.
#9 Noah Plenn | Attack | Freshman | Cape May, N.J. | St. Augustine Prep
Plenn competed for St. Augustine Prep, starting and lettering all four years of high school. He earned a USA All-American selection in 2023 and 2024. His team in 2022 won the Non-Public A State Championship in 2022. Plenn is one of nine players to score 100 goals in their St. Augustine career.
#18 Drew Duncan | Attack/Midfield | Freshman | Wilmington, Del. | Archmere Academy
Duncan spent his prep career at Archmere Academy, starting all four years and serving as captain for his junior and senior seasons. He was a USA All-American selection in 2023 and 2024. In his time at Archmere Academy, Duncan recorded 333 points while playing for his father, Peter, the head coach at Archmere and a former UD lacrosse player.
#19 Jackson Shields | Midfield | Senior | Harrisburg, Pa. | York College
Shields comes to the 302 from York College, where he played 61 games with four starts in three seasons (2022-24). He recorded 43 points (26 goals and 17 assists) en route to two First-team MAC All-Commonwealth selections (2023, 2024) and a USILA Honorable Mention All-American nod in 2023. Shields' high school career at Bishop McDevitt saw him be a four-year starter and two-time captain.
#26 Nathan Furgeson | Midfield | Freshman | Damascus, Md. | Landon School
Furgeson was a four-year starter at Landon School and was named a captain for his senior season. During his time at Landon, Furgeson received All-MD State First Team and All-DMV First Team selections while helping his team to a 2024 IAC championship.
#27 Aiden Bodonyi | Defense | Sophomore | Cleveland, Ohio | Ohio State
Bodonyi joins the Blue Hens after spending one season at Ohio State. While he never saw game action as a freshman for the Buckeyes, Bodonyi committed to Ohio State as a three-star recruit, according to Inside Lacrosse. His high school career included five varsity letters between St. Edward (two) and Western Reserve Academy (three). Bodonyi brings some size to Delaware's D-core, as his six-foot-five-inch frame makes him the tallest player on the Blue Hens roster.
#33 Michael Dickinson-Tooman | Defense | Freshman | Boulder, Colo. | Fairview
Dickinson-Tooman, a former top-five nationally ranked recruit, played his prep career at Fairfield High School. He was a three-year starter and a two-time captain. Dickinson-Tooman earned First Team All-Conference honors and an All-State honorable mention in his senior year, while he was tabbed Second Team All-Conference as a sophomore.
#34 Matthew Warburton | Faceoff | Freshman | Dallas, Texas | Western Reserve Academy
Warburton was a four-year starter for Western Reserve Academy, earning a three-star recruiting rating from Inside Lacrosse. From 2021-24, he helped Western Reserve Academy to a combined 60-19 record.
#36 Maverick Smith | Midfield | Freshman | Howard County, Md. | Mount Hebron/St. John's College HS
Smith spent three years at Mount Hebron High School before attending St. John's College High School for a year. He was a three-year starter and team captain for his junior and senior years. Smith was a USA All-American recruit.
#42 Keegan Lathrop | Attack/Midfield | Freshman | Cape Elizabeth, Maine | Cape Elizabeth
Lathrop played his high school lacrosse at Cape Elizabeth. He earned a three-star recruiting rating from Inside Lacrosse. Lathrop was the Varsity Maine Boy's Lacrosse Player of the Year in 2023 after scoring 62 goals with 20 assists.
#44 Lange Gaspar | Defense | Freshman | Baltimore, Md. | Calvert Hall
Gaspar was a two-year starter for Calvert Hall as a junior and senior. As a senior, Gaspar served as a team captain. His play earned him an Inside Lacrosse four-star recruiting rating.
#45 Liam Powell | Defense | Freshman | Monkton, Md. | Loyola Blakefield
Powell spent three years as a starter for Loyola Blakefield and was named team captain for his senior season. A four-star recruit, he found himself on Inside Lacrosse's Top 100 recruits for the Class of 2024.
#47 Colton Silverstein | Goalie | Freshman | Houston, Texas | The Kinkaid School
Silverstein graduated from The Kinkaid School as a four-year starter in net. A team captain for two seasons, Silverstein left high school with 1,050 career saves, good for 14th most all-time in high school lacrosse history. He earned THSLL All-District honors in 2021 before being named a THSLL All-State selection from 2022-24. Silverstein led his team to a Texas state championship in 2023 and 2024, being named state championship MVP both times.
#50 Ben Maynor | Long Stick Midfield | Freshman | Concord, N.C. | Cannon School
Maynor started and lettered all four years at Cannon School. He earned NCISAA All-State selections in 2022 and 2023 while taking home CISAA All-Conference honors from 2022-24. Maynor helped his team win three consecutive NCISAA state championships from 2022-24.
#66 Duncan Barnes | Short Stick Defensive Midfield | Freshman | Baltimore, Md. | Boys' Latin School of Maryland
Barnes was a three-year starter for Boys' Latin School of Maryland. While serving as a captain in his senior season, he helped his team to a MIAA state second-place finish. Barnes was a three-star recruit, according to Inside Lacrosse.
