WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – University of Delaware field hockey remains unbeaten in the CAA after a 2-1 victory at Monmouth on Friday. The Blue Hens advance to 6-4 overall and 3-0 in CAA action, while the Hawks dip to 6-3, 1-2 CAA.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Rookie Taylor Vaccaro put the Hens on the board with her first career score.
Kate Fiest increased her team lead in goals with her fourth of the year.
Emma Miller, Janne Stoetzer, and Rachael Whitehead earned a point with an assist each.
Cecile van Eijck (6-4) registered eight saves, including three in a row on a pair of Monmouth rebound shots.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Vaccaro snagged the deflection after a Whitehead shot and Miller insertion on UD's first penalty corner of the game.
In the opening minutes of the second frame, Monmouth responded off its own corner to tie things up.
The eventual game winner came off the stick of Fiest on a feed a third of the length of the field from Stoetzer.
