WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The University of Delaware men's soccer team asserted its talents in the Saturday evening game at Monmouth, but left the pitch with a loss of 0-2. Moving into the new week, the Hens will hold an overall record of 5-4-2 and a CAA record of 1-3-0.
Entering the match, Monmouth was ranked third in the conference following Elon in first and Hofstra in second. They will enter the week with an overall record of 5-1-5 and a CAA record of 2-0-3.
ON THE RECORD - "Our inexperience is showing in our inconsistency- we're struggling to put together 90 minute performances and need to keep working on that," head coach Tommy McMenemy said. "The second half tonight was excellent, we moved the ball well, pressed well and dictated the game, but it was just too little too late because of our inability to execute those things in the first half. We're excited to get to work this week and be ready to be back at home on Friday night against UNCW."
HEN HIGHLIGHTS
The Hens return home to Grant Stadium on Friday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. for another conference match against UNCW.
