Men's Lacrosse Names 2025 Captains

NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Ben DeLuca announced the appointment of Kevin Ellington, Jason Kolar, and Logan Premtaj as captains for the 2025 season after a team vote. The trio will serve as first-year team captains this upcoming season.
Ellington is coming off a stellar 2024 campaign. The fifth-year grad student was named the 2024 CAA Defensive Player of the Year after starting all 14 games between the pipes for the Blue Hens. He posted a 9-5 record with a 9.60 goals against average and a .590 save percentage. Ellington was the only goalie in the country to finish the season top-10 in goals against average, save percentage, and saves per game (13.36). The Maryland native was named a USA Lacrosse All-America Honorable Mention, USILA All-America Honorable Mention, a USILA Scholar All-American, and was named to the 2024 CAA All-Tournament Team.
Kolar missed most of the 2024 season due to injury, making just four starts. The senior midfielder has played in 33 career games with 20 starts for the Blue & Gold, tallying 30 goals and 11 assists. The Maryland native was named to the CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll in 2023.
Premtaj, a fifth-year grad student, made just two appearances in 2024 due to injury. Last season, Premtaj went 14-for-43 at the X for a .326 faceoff percentage with nine ground balls and two caused turnovers. The New Jersey native has appeared in 38 career games, posting a .474 faceoff percentage. As a freshman, Premtaj led the Hens with a .585 faceoff percentage, going 31-of-53 on faceoffs.
