Women’s Basketball Starts Three-Game Road Swing at Providence Sunday Afternoon

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The University of Delaware women's basketball team begins an 18-day stretch away from the Bob Carpenter Center with a Sunday afternoon road matchup against Providence inside Alumni Hall. This game marks the fifth meeting between the two programs and the first showdown between head coaches Sarah Jenkins and Erin Batth since taking the helm of their respective teams. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. and will be broadcast live on FloCollege.

- Delaware enters Sunday's game following a morale-boosting 88-82 home victory over Colgate on Tuesday morning during Education Day.
- A sold-out crowd of 4,631 fans inside Bob Carpenter Center witnessed a balanced scoring effort from the Blue Hens, with six players reaching double figures, led by a career performance from Jiya Perry.
- This marks the first time since Feb. 5, 2023, against Northeastern, that six Blue Hens scored in double digits in a home win.
- Against Colgate, Perry scored a career-high 14 points (6-8 FG, 2-2 3FG) and tied her career-best with seven rebounds in 23 minutes off the bench.
- Ande'a Cherisier led the team with 17 points (8-11 FG), while Tara Cousins contributed 16 points (7-9 FG) and a team-high five assists.
- Ella Wanzer added 12 points, shooting 4-7 from beyond the arc, and set career and game highs with four steals.
- Michelle Ojo chipped in 11 points and five rebounds in just 12 minutes, while Rebecca Demeke rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
- Through the season's first four games, Cousins leads the Blue Hens in scoring, averaging 10.8 points per game, closely followed by Demeke with 10.5 points per game.
- Chloe Wilson has been dominant on the boards, averaging a team-best 8.5 rebounds per game.
- Providence comes into Sunday's matchup with a 2-3 record, following a narrow 65-61 road loss to Dayton Thursday evening.
- The Friars were led by Grace Efosa, who delivered a season-high 22 points on an efficient 8-of-10 shooting, marking her second 20-point performance of the season.
