WASHINGTON, D.C. – The University of Delaware women's basketball team tipped off the 2024-25 season on Monday evening, taking on George Washington (1-0) at the Charles E. Smith Center in Washington, D.C. The Blue Hens (0-1) dropped a 78-66 road decision to the Revolutionaries stopping the season-opening win streak to four.
COACH'S QUOTE
"We weren't disciplined as we needed to be on the defensive end and we have to do a better job of guarding in moments like this", head coach Sarah Jenkins said. "There are some lessons from this game and there are some things that we have to clean up offensively; we got frustrated when our shots weren't falling. We have to finish around the rim; there were a lot of layups that we just didn't make and GW did a phenomenal job finishing around the rim. We have to go back to the drawing board and we have to get better. I still have a lot of belief and faith in this team."
HEN HIGHLIGHTS
First Quarter: George Washington 21, Delaware 20
The Blue Hens continue their road stretch, traveling to Philadelphia, Pa., to take on La Salle at John Glaser Arena on Saturday, Nov. 9, with tip-off set for Noon.
