NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women's basketball team lost to Villanova, 75-65 on Wednesday night. The Blue Hens drop to 3-6, while the Wildcats improve to 6-5.

HENS HIGHLIGHTS

The Blue Hens outscored Villanova in the second and fourth quarters of the game and outpaced the Wildcats 38-35 in the second half.
UD shot 50-percent from beyond the arc for the first time this season. The last time the Hens made half their threes was last season against Drexel on February 18, 2024.
Chloe Wilson recorded her third-consecutive double-double, tallying 19 points and 14 rebounds. Both were game-highs.
Tara Cousins (14), Ella Wanzer (11), and Ande'a Cherisier (10) joined Wilson in double figures.

HOW IT HAPPENED

At the first media stoppage, the Blue Hens trailed Villanova 19-7. The Wildcats finished the quarter on an 8-4 run to lead 27-11 at the break.
Both teams traded four points heading into the second quarter media timeout. UD held Villanova scoreless for 3:37 of the quarter, forcing four turnovers in a 5:19 stretch. The score was 40-27 in favor of Villanova heading into the locker room after the Blue & Gold outscored their opponents 16-13 in the quarter.
Delaware trailed by a dozen at the under-five media timeout in the third. The teams each put up 18 in the frame, leaving a 58-45 Villanova' lead after three.
The Hens outscored the Wildcats 20-17 in the fourth quarter but ultimately fell.
