Women’s Basketball Travels to Navy on Thursday

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The University of Delaware women's basketball team (3-6) hits the road for a Thursday night matchup with the Navy Midshipmen (7-3) Tip-off from Alumni Hall is scheduled for 6 p.m. and the game will air on ESPN+.

ABOUT THE HENS
- Delaware's most recent contest was a 10-point home loss to Villanova on December 11.
- Four of Delaware's five most consistent starters are averaging 10+ ppg this season. Ande'a Cherisier leads the way for the Blue Hens (11.3 ppg), while Rebecca Demeke continues to have a career-year averaging 10.7 ppg. Tara Cousins (10.3) and Chloe Wilson (10.0) round out Delaware's list.
- Wilson has recorded a double-double in three-consecutive games for the Blue Hens. Against Evansville in New Orleans, Wilson tallied 16 points and 10 rebounds. The 5-11 forward then scored 13 points to go along with 12 rebounds to lead the team against Delaware State, followed by game-highs of 19 points and 14 rebounds against Villanova for her 19th career double-double. Her four double-doubles on the season are tops in the CAA.
- Cherisier has now scored double-digit points in six consecutive games. The sophomore center recorded 10 points in the last game against Villanova to go along with six rebounds and two steals.
ABOUT THE MIDSHIPMEN
- Head coach Tim Taylor is in his fifth season at the helm of the Midshipmen.
- Navy is one of the best rebounding teams in the country, ranking fifth with 45.7 per game.
- The Midshipmen are also stifling on the defensive end, ranking 26th in opponent field goal percentage at 35.2.
- The player to watch for Navy is Zanai Barnett-Gay, who paces the team in scoring, rebounding, and assists averaging 18.2, 7.1, and 2.7 per game, respectively.
