JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Niels Lane tallied his second 20-point performance of the season as University of Delaware men's basketball fell to Saint Peter's, 72-64, Friday night. The Blue Hens dip to 7-5 overall while the Peacocks advance to 5-5.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Lane went 8-of-13 from the field and added four boards, two blocks, one assist, and one steal.
Izaiah Pasha and John Camden each scored 13 points.
Pasha recorded five assists, four rebounds, and a steal.
Cavan Reilly rounded out the quartet of double figure scorers with 10 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Delaware scored the first five points of the game and opened an 11-4 lead at the first stoppage with 15:39 on the clock. The home team pulled within one at 13-12 at the under-12 timeout using an 8-2 advantage, including six-straight into the dead ball. The Peacocks continued to hold the upper hand and went ahead 19-16 at the 7:44 mark for the under-eight media break. UD made it a 26-25 game at the half's final timeout at 2:53. The teams traded the lead six times heading into the halftime horn with Saint Peter's on top, 34-33.
After Delaware took the lead with a Reilly three pointer to begin the half, the home team ripped off seven unanswered over 1:36 to push it to 41-36, which forced a timeout by the Hens. More of the same to the 11:49 mark with the Peacocks ahead 50-43. Delaware would pull within two possessions on multiple occasions but could not close the gap any further.

GAME NOTES

This was just the third time all season that Delaware has trailed at the half.
